It is spread over an area of 15 acres and is surrounded by a huge compound wall with towers on all four sides, called Gopurams. The main entrance of the temple, known as the East Gopuram, is the largest tower, standing at 38 meters high. The temple complex also includes several mandapams (halls), tanks, and shrines.
The temple has a unique ritual called the Abhishekam, where the deity is bathed with milk, honey, curd, and other holy substances. The temple also has a 22 well system called the Theertham, which is believed to have medicinal properties and is said to cure various diseases.
